DNA “Do Not Age” Collagen Induction Treatment
Another exclusive cutting edge treatment only available at Youthful Medical Spa. Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT is the latest trending treatment in the anti-aging non-surgical cosmetic world. This is a skin rejuvenating procedure that involves the use of a device that contains super fine, tiny needles that create what we call controlled microscopic injuries. This process creates a channel that triggers the body to fill with collagen and elastin. DNA serum is what makes this treatment so different from others resulting in our motto the Do Not Age treatment
DNA serum is applied and infused into the channels and works to counteract the natural aging process by rebuilding the skin from the inside out. DNA is truly age defying and restores the loss of the skins vitality. Promoting firmer smoother skin and a healthy glow, it diminishes the signs of aging and sun damage through a regenerative process.
This advanced preparation containing Hydrolyzed DNA and RNA is a powerful anti-wrinkle serum and deeply hydrates and nourishes the skin, increasing the moisture levels while strengthening and restoring. DNA is a nucleic acid that can replicate itself, creating new copies of itself, making this a powerful, unique application. The DNA also acts as a protein rich second skin to guard against the stresses of the environment
This treatment is great for fine lines, wrinkles, loose skin, hyper pigmentation and scars. This is also a “color blind” treatment meaning any skin tone or type is safe to receive and benefit from the process of this specific type of skin restoration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the indications or who are good candidates?
This can be performed on anyone from their 20’s through their 80’s. The younger someone starts with these type of non-invasive treatments the more they will prvent againg later in life. This is a wonderful way for everyone to maintain a youthful appearance. This can be performed on face, neck, chest, hands and body parts. This is a great choice for acne scars or stretchmarks regardless of what area they are located.
Is there any downtime and how many treatments does one need?
It is simple and fast – less than 40 minutes for an entire face and virtually no downtime, just minimal redness but you can use the oxygen makeup immediately after. It is typically done in a series of 4-6 treatments performed 4 weeks apart. You can expect to continue seeing results for up to 6-8 months after the last treatment as your skins’ matrix regrows new collagen. It can be personalized by going deeper in some areas that require a more aggressive treatment due to sun-damage. This is an affordable treatment that can counteract collagen loss, laxity, wrinkling and can be done monthly with our membership program, purchased as a package of 4 treatments for combined pricing or simple added to any regimen as an a la carte service.
How does Microneedling differ from other fractional services?
It can be done on more surfaces including the area around the eyes (even inside the orbital bone and right up to lower lash line and on upper brow, which lasers cannot do). The other big difference is that as a manual “micro-injury”, it produces a blood response in the tissue which produces platelets, leading to more collagen 3 production.
What happens during a treatment? How do I prepare?
The procedure is normally completed within 60 minutes depending on the required treatment and areas . Your practitioner will explain the treatment thoroughly and provide a full skin consultation before beginning. Prior to arrival you will apply a topical anesthetic (in the form of a prescription cream) this should be applied to your skin 45-60 minutes prior to beginning the service .This numbs your skin and ensures that you are comfortable during the treatment. After the skin is numbed, your practitioner will gently move the Rejuvapen™ over your skin to puncture the epidermis layers of the skin and create minute sub-cutaneous injuries. These microscopic wounds close withing 3-5 minutes but that’s enough to stimulate new collagen deposition which may last up to a year. You may experience some pain, particularly around the sensitive areas of your face such as around the eyes.
Is it painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes. People who experience the treatment say that it feels like their skin is being rubbed with fine sandpaper or a prickly effect, others describe the feeling of an electronic toothbrush being moved across your skin. Your provider will apply the most beneficial serums and topicals including suncreen and pigment matching oxygenetics. After the procedure your skin will show signs of redness or erythema and will appear similar to moderate sunburn. There may be some slight swelling. The redness and swelling will typically subside within 24 hours after the treatment, however this varies depending on skin sensitivity.
Can Microneedling cause hyperpigmentation?
No, in normal skin, the microneedling procedure does not cause hyper-pigmentation as long as the skin is protected against UV rays after the treatment and for the first 5-7 days with a suitable sunblock. Over exposure to UV after micro needling may cause hyper-pigmentation, but the risk is small. However if you have a history of a hyper-pigmentation please tell your practitioner before receiving a Rejuvapen™ treatment. In fact clients have reported an improvement in their pigmentation following just one treatment.
How long should I wait to wear make-up?
You can return to your regular makeup routine dependinfg on ingedients as soon as the next day, at which point your skin will appear almost normal. You must however continue to use a high factor sunscreen and any topical products specifically recommended by your practitioner. You can expect to feel an increase in dryness that may effect the smoothness of application, this will last up to a week as the top layer sloughs off. Suitable medical safe make-up such as Oxygentetics and Jane Iredale can be used immediately post treatment if desired. Your practitioner will discuss with you any concerns you have about returning to your routine makeup regime.
