What is AquaGold?
“It’s a first-of-its-kind, patented micro-channeling technology, delivering drugs or biologics directly into the skin,” says Sobin Chang, CEO of Aquavit Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the makers of AquaGold). “Its revolutionary technology can provide thousands of microinjections per minute without pain or downtime.” In non-marketing terms, it means it delivers beneficial ingredients, vitamins, and drugs like Botox directly below the epidermis (the surface) of the skin.
Instead of requiring multiple procedures, AquaGold is one customized vial mixed with everything you need to solve your skin’s shortcomings. Attached to the vial is a series of 20 needles, each smaller than a piece of hair. The needles are coated in gold, which creates less chance of irritation or allergic reaction. Most importantly, they are hollow, so they transport the carefully concocted contents of that vial underneath the skin for maximum efficacy.
What's used in AquaGold treatments?
Your AquaGold cocktail depends on your goal! The most common ingredient requested is Botox, but we also will use dermal filler, like Juvederm Volbella, to deliver high-quality HA to give you a lasting glow.
Hyaluronic acid is a soft, gel-like substance that absorbs water and brings deep skin hydration to the treated areas, giving it improved firmness, elasticity, and smoothness.
Botox applied into the dermis (not the muscle) helps *shrink pore openings. This is the only recognized treatment that has an actual physical effect on pore size.
Growth factors stimulate the skin for improved healing after laser and help maintain collagen levels.
Pigment reducers prohibit the melanin response. Combined with sunblock and sunscreen, discoloration is reduced.
*Intradermal Botox in the arrector pili muscles in the skin helps control pore size* while oil production and sweat are decreased by the lessened function of the glands responsible for their action. *Pore size action is temporary and will return to your “normal” once the Botox wears off.
